Subject: So, last night...

I was fiddling with my config, and noticed that I was having a devil

of a time getting the Flea2, on the 9.25" with a Meade FR, to guide

the scope while I tracked down the source of drift in the SBIG images

taken through the Megrez.

I couldn't get it to hold even about a 4th magnitude star, so I

switched to Arcturus.  Still no joy.  So, I decided I'd try

programming the PEC.  And when I did, I noticed that I was having to

hit the +RA button a lot, pretty much every couple of seconds.

So, my question:  Here in LA, we're getting all kinds of "flex your

power" stories on the news, since it's been so hot and humid everybody

has their AC running.

Just before I tried the PEC, my Mini, which had been running Equinox

Image and Equinox 6 to drive the mount, and also Astro IIDC and the

flea with the 11mm lens as a finder, plus playing some background

music downloaded from Hearts of Space, started having problems

streaming the music.  I figured I just have too many things running on it.

But is it possible that some sort of undervoltage situation might have

been responsible for my Nexstar 9.25 running "slow?"  I would have

thought that would only happen to AC synchronous drives (it used to

happen to my old Meade drive in the Springfield), not computerized

goto drives.  But could it?

But then, when I shut down for the night, I noticed it was getting

pretty hazy and clouds were rolling in.  That might have had something

to do with it as well, toward the end.
