Subject: Astroplanner new monitor etc.

Hi everyone, I don`t know how many of you have tried "Iterative Polar Alignment" in Astroplanner but I got out at 10 pm last night & tried to align my 10 inch scope with it. After a (perhaps faulty) 4 star alignment I was getting a 1 degree 1 minute error on the alignment star in IPA when synced. I noticed that Altair is really quite bright so I have my doubts about my identification of Alpha Centauri, Antares & Vega as the 4 stars. I`ve had a setback with my DVI monitor which isn`t powering up (perhaps due to plugging & unplugging the monitors from the back of my G4 Mac Mini). I have a KVM switch & a DVI splitter now but haven`t been able to switch between the DVI & VGA monitors without changing the connection! So I`m looking at repairs & the possibility of buying a new DVI monitor (cheaper now than they were when I purchased the first one) whilst the other one is hopefully repaired. So I`ll have to postpone the motorised Moonlite focuser I was looking at in the meantime. Congratulations, Milton on your new camera by the way! Mark.
