Hi Perry, I notice it only mentions Meade scopes! My understanding is that the 1 star alignment mentioned is only possible on Meades but may not be necessary with AP. Your mount does need the ability to Sync though. Mark.

Hi Perry, I think a 3 star alignment helps the scope/mount find it`s
bearings. IPA in Astroplanner slews to the alignment star first & when
synced will tell you your error in alignment. Then the pole star (if
you`re lucky enough to be on cue!) is slewed to and corrections made
with the mount`s adjustments & the same process is repeated to
eliminate error. Mark.
