Subject: New images
Hi Folks;
I posted two updated images to the DSO section:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/DSO/M101_20080823.jpg
which is my revised mono version of the M101 (four 20 minute images
effectively 80 minutes of exposure time) that I captured in August and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/DSO/NGC6922WestVeil_SouthHalf_20081001MJA.jpg
the west veil which I captured last night. I did not plan to image the
veil at all, but since it's going to be cloudy for the next few days,
I figured I try a test shot after I finished shooting M27 in LRGB last
night. To bring out the very faint veil with 7 minute exposures
required a lot of image tweaking, as it is basically not visible at
all in the raw light polluted stack.
Both images were done with a new auto background subtract when sum
stacking technique which will likely be rolled into the next Alpha
release.
TTYL..
