Hi Milton,
I'm glad you like it..... this image would not have been possible if not for Astro IIDC!

Hi Dale;
Very nice image, thanks for sharing. I wasn't aware of the Heart Nebula at all, and it's only a bit above the double open cluster in Perseus too. I'll add it to my list of targets for this winter.
A couple of questions.
- What was the original image resolution (xxx by yyy pixels) from the camera?
The Canon 350D has a sensor size of 22.2 x 14.8 mm at a resolution of 3456 x 2304.
- Are you shooting Bayer RAW, TIFF or JPEGs?
Bayer RAW
- Are you averaging or summing the 60 images when you stack to create the work image?
I'm using Nebulosity for stacking and I believe Craig is summing.
- In your information on the site (great to see some details on what your using and doing) it says your using a "Astronomik CLS Filter". I take it that really helps eliminate the light pollution at your location?
The Astronomik CLS Filter made a big difference in my imaging.... it really does work.
- How light polluted are your skies (i.e. what sort of background is your DSLR camera picking up for 6 minute exposures) and how deep can you see visually?
I am 30 miles west of Boston, MA and I have 2 cities 2 miles west of me, I image mostly to the northeast since this is my darkest skies. I can send you some raw images with and without the filter if you want.
Regards,
Dale
Thanks in advance..

Hi folks,
Here is another image of the Heart Nebula with 60 frames at 6 minutes each. I this the first image I have taken using the Bahtinov Mask, I think this is my best focus to date.
