Hi Alan, A wonderful image as usual! I did look up some links to your big scope for interest`s sake a while ago. It`s something to marvel at too! Mark.

Hi all,

It's been quite some time since I've shared a new lunar image. Here is a large mosaic that I've been working on for some time. The data was captured more than a year ago on my first night out with the DMK 41 series camera. Seeing was average so I used the A-P 10" mak/cass at it's prime focus (f14.6) The panorama captured many oft imaged features, but I was excited to find the cheshire cat smile of elusive Ina was recorded at this relatively short focal length. There is a link to a finder image for Ina beneath the first image.

This image was captured with Astro IIDC and processed using the new features introduced in Astro IIDC 4.01 and also with the updated version of Keith's Image Stacker.

The original image is quite large (2.6 mb):

A reduced size version is available here:

I preferred this horizontal presentation, but a more traditional north-up version can be found here:

I'm embarrassed to admit how long I worked on this picture... but I hope you enjoy it! Apologies if you have seen the image posted previously in other places.

best wishes,

Alan
