Glad you stopped me there, although I was preparing way in advance as usual. I`ve attached the connector to the back of the camera with the screw on mount. I now have a rat-tail at the other end with 8 coloured wires & a diagram provided in the "Getting Started Manual" with 8 coloured pins, 1-8. There is no pin 0 to speak of. Do you now mean attach one wire to the other? Sorry if I`m a bit dense but I don`t understand what`s to be done with these wires. Surely the wires don`t go in the pin holes on the camera & the screw-on goes somewhere else?

Hi Milton, Do you mean they should be connected to the 12v power

supply?

NO!!

Do not connect any power to those wires or you could "cook" the

camera or cook the inputs.

The camera gets it's power over FireWire it does not need an external

source.

Just connect Pin 0 to Pin 1 on the rat tail and check mark the item I

told you about in the previous e-mail.

Since PGR may change the numbering of the wires in the rat tails,

check the documentation yourself!

I`ve been having dreams about doing that for some hours! If that`s

the case polarity shouldn`t matter either. I`ve been connecting

things like neons to 12v adaptors for years for my artworks-I don`t

know why I had to go to sleep for this to occur to me. I guess the

important thing is to select the right 2 wires from the rat-tail?

Who`s Walter? Is this someone from the group? Mark.
