You might consider putting a Sidereal Technology goto kit on that

Lightbridge.  I put one on my Tak EM-500 mount (albeit GEM) and it

cost less than $800.  I have yet to take advantage of all the cool

features it includes.  I think for dobs that you can add a third motor

to drive a field de-rotator for long duration AP.  But you wouldn't

need that for our short planetary videos.

planetarily,

Ahhhh, of course. And imaging within the solar system, to video,

tracking accuracy isn't as critical as single exposures from an SLR.

I vote YES for the 16"! LOL.

I'd love to see your images coming off of that thing.

Thanks Alan & Kirk for the kind comments.  Kirk, JMI make a cheap

pseudo

tracking platform that you place the Lightbridge on and it tracks

for a few

minutes or you could buy a proper alt/az type tracking platform

that are

available for dobs.  It would be nearly as nice as operating a GEM

but think of

all the light gathering ability of a 16" mirror!!
