Subject: Single versus Multiple Alignment points.

Hi Folks;

A few people have asked what is the advantage of using multiple alignment points when stacking images, especially lunar / solar stuff.

Here is the difference it can make:

The upper is a single point, the lower has 82 points for alignment and both stacks were processed using identical post processing settings (curves for brightness and same sharpness settings).

It's very clear that using 82 MAPs has far more fine detail than the single one does.

HTH..
