Subject: NGC6960 South LRGB

Hi folks;

I posted a color shot of NGC6960, the West veil. This is the southern half of it where it tapers out.

This was the same night of the Auroral storm that turned the sky green here until about 12:30 am. So I wound up throwing out half the Luma images as they were light flogged. It started up again at 3 am, right after I finished imaging.

Shot from my new location which has Mag 4.5 skies, so I did not need to use the LPR filter. Celestron 8" aperture, 1150 mm focal length (0.59x focal reduction) Grasshoper EXHAD monochrome camera cooled to 5°C and Astrodon LRGB. Guided with a GPUSB and a Flea 640x480 color camera on the Celestron Radial OAG. Four 10 minute exposures Luma, three 11 minute exposure Red, three 9 minute exposures Green and three 9 minute exposures Blue. Next time I'll go a bit deeper to around 15 minutes and may use the LPR filter as the sky background is around 1,0000 units per minute of exposure.

This was binned 2x2 during stacking to bring out the faint wispy bands of nebula.

TTYL..
