Hi Mark;

The only thing that should happen when you uncheck the "Automatically open iChat when camera is turned on" is that when the camera gets plugged in then iChat does not launch anymore.

As to the icon in the menu bar, you can turn that off in iChat ("General" preference panel, uncheck "Show status in menu bar").

getting iChat starting up in the Menu bar at least-It`s over-ridden  

when Astro IIDC is opened but is still open afterwards( the white  

light is on next to it in the dock too)Unless you mean I should shut- 

down altogether to get rid of it? Anyway it was never any great  

difficulty & was an immediate indication that things were working.
