Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] some lunar images
I am in central texas. I am attaching a few pictures of the scope below. It belongs to the Central Texas Astronomical Society of which I am a member.
The moon was around 65 deg altitude for those images. I have a hard time focusing in the dark even with my glasses. I had never tried the focal reducer with the DMK and just wanted to give that a try last night. I have plenty of magnification, Jupiter will fill the 640x480 frame without the focal reducer. Seeing was pretty good it seemed. I intended to give Jupiter a try, but it was too low on the horizon by the time I got going.
Sorry to be so brief, but I have been up all night and I am getting pretty tired.

Wow! that's a big scope is it a Dobo design? Where abouts in the world are you i.e. is the Moon low in your sky at the moment? I only ask as with that aperture why did you reduce the EFL it must have been seeing I suppose
