Subject: Re: USB supported for DMK?

Welcome!

YOu should be able to run the firewire cameras fine, but not the USBs.  Also, if you go to Milton's home page on AStro IIDC documentation (probably in the help file too), he has a link to a 800 to 400 firewire cable that would work.

And you are correct.  Astro IIDC is very good software.  ;oD

Hi group,

I just joined. I have a few DMK camera's (I piloted them a very long time ago, before DMK believed they could be used for astronomy :) ) at home. I am running them off a Windows XP server, but since for everything else I switched to Mac last year, perhaps now is a good time to switch completely.

The problem is, I have both USB and Firewire camera's. Is there support for USB in Astro_IIDC? It looks like a great software to me.

Sorry for my dumb question, but is it possible to use the Mac Notebook Pro FW800 port with DMK FW camera's? Will a converter cable work?
