I'm using version 3.02.03 of Astro IIDC. I capture video on a Power Book G4 running 10.4.11 and the video plays fine in Quicktime 7.6.2 on the Power Book.

When I transfer the video files to my G5 Desktop running 10.4.11 and Quicktime 7.6.2 the video will not play. The video window opens but the image area remains black throughout the video.

My Astro IIDC registration is for 1 camera on multiple Macs. The camera is plugged into the G5, I've installed Astro IIDC on the G5, followed the registration process on the G5 and installed the ASC Bayer Codec 30UB on the G5.

Which version of Astro IIDC you install on the G5? 4.0x will not work because your license is for 3.x, so it runs in demo mode.

We left 3.02.03 available and you can download it at:

I've searched the website's support area, the help file/manual in the program, and the Yahoo Group messages, but can't find an answer.

Can someone please help?

Check that the file "ASTRO_IIDC_REG" was created in ~Library/Application Support. If it's not there, the Bayer Codec will not work.

Then try re-booting the G5 in case the Bayer codec did not find that file and was in use by something else.

If it persists check the "Console.log" window and see if any message show up there.
