Hi Milton,

I installed various things in "My Network Places" & got as far as opening drop boxes for various accounts on the PC but need a server password which I think my father administrates (I usually have trouble extracting passwords from him). So I emailed some sort of version (webloc?) of Alberto`s "Far Eclipses" .avi movie file from 29th August `09 (it`s only 1kb in size?) from the Astro IIDC files section to my gmail account on the PC. It won`t open without "Driver Detective"  or some such thing & when it comes to the crunch they want to be payed. I`m totally skint at present so it`ll have to wait I guess...!

Hi Milton,

You`ve given me an idea-perhaps if I obtain the latest version of Div-X on my PC-I`ll be able to play those movies of Alberto`s on the PC if I can send them over there. At the moment I`m doing all my communication between the Macs & the PC by email but there must be a simpler way. I had a brief look in Network the other night but am none the wiser...!?

You should be able to share a folder on the Mac or the PC. I do it all the time with my Compaq and other Macs through my router.

These cover the basics ( just searched Google with the phrase " Mac Windows File Sharing " (no quotes though):
