Hi Milton,

I`ve been looking at my Photoshop CS3 Extended copy to see if there`s anything resembling the tasks in your app. Yours has the ability I understand, to crop according to co-ordinates! In Photoshop you can make animations by working with layers (stills), or change the aspect ratio & crop in the process of doing this. I think it`d be a day or more`s work to master this process in PS! I have an old Jupiter movie for instance with the planet in the top right of the image. I had a vague notion it might be possible to be able to draw some sort of box around the object whilst preserving the cropped section of it as a smaller QT movie. Fanciful idea perhaps! Photoshop will export your movie, which is basically to make a copy of it to another folder- although it does have a specialty to prepare movies for streaming by the web. Again, you can change the aspect ratio of your exported movie & there is choice of custom size-but how do you select a certain section of the image in doing so..!? I guess most of the time the need is to be able to composite a number of still images into what is basically an animation.. as you`ve done with Eros!

Nope, it's different. I sold the code for that application to a
company about 9 years. I can use it internally for my own amusement,
but I can't use it as a base for a new application or re-use it.

It's old anyhow, so there isn't much point and looking at it as Apple
has obsoleted all the APIs for it and has not replaced them with new
Apis. Same thing with the Sequence Grabber and VDIG components. I have
to boot into OS 9 / Classic to edit the GUI for them. Apple obsoleted
the API and tools and hasn't released anything as to what we are to
replace them with.

Quite a few QuickTime video editing apps can crop, or used to. I used
to survey them to see which ones could do what things, but there's
very little point anymore as Apple own the Video and Audio editing
market on the Mac. Competing with them is a fools game, which is why
applications like BTV Pro etc. are toast and not being updated.
