Nothing shows up with a "point grey scorpion" search, and "point grey CCD" only turned up a more expensive Flea. It's probably moot, though, since my daughter seems to be off-line, and her cell phone is going straight to voicemail.

Do another search.  Seller has new listings for more Scorpions.

Ouch! (and congratulations...)

I'm in Canada, so eBay wouldn't even take my order (since the seller

wouldn't ship here). I sent a note to my daughter in California, but

she didn't get to it before you did.

Missed it by THAT much!

It's all the more painful because Point Grey is a Canadian company.

Thanks for heads-up! I just bought -I assume - the last 1600x1200

camera, as no others of either model were listed.  I almost missed

it cause I get this group by digest. Would be nice if it got here in

time for the LCROSS impact, but not holding my breath. And guess now

I'll have to buy another AstroIIDC license...

p.s. hate to ask as its showing my ignorance as a 'shopper', but

what do they normally cost?  I know they're pretty expensive.

Since Alan bought the 2nd 1600x1200 Scorpion, the seller has a new

listing for 2 more.

Hi Jeff,

I still have my DMK 21 series camera and don't expect to replace it

with the PGR camera. The 640x480 array of 5.6 micron pixels in the

DMK

camera with 60 fps capture rate is a very good fit for planetary

imaging. These PGR models on Ebay are wider field cameras (albeit

with

the capacity for imaging within a Region of Interest.) I expect the

scorpion will perform very well for lunar and solar imaging and it

will be great to sample a product from PGR at this very low price.

The

PGR products have always been way considerably more expensive and

with

a wider feature set than those from the Imaging Source. I guess

someone with more experience can say whether one is a clear winner

over the other. I've had good success with my DMK cameras thus far.

Your filter wheel and nosepiece from DMK camera should all be fine

with the PGR camera.

I think I know the answer to this, but for the price, would this be

a worthwhile upgrade from my DMK21AF04.US? I assume I could sell

the

TIS camera to help fund the modest price, and my existing 1.25

filters/wheel would still work.
