You can also use the ntptrace command :

[ ~/] # ntptrace

localhost: stratum 3, offset 0.003917, synch distance 0.092727

173-13-139-105-sfba.hfc.comcastbusiness.net: stratum 2, offset -0.001146, synch distance 0.049717

clock.sjc.he.net: stratum 1, offset 0.000000, synch distance 0.000434, refid 'CDMA'

This will give you your sync distance and offset for all servers between you and the stratum 1 server.
