Subject: Astro IIDC 4.05.04 Beta 1 Available

Hi Folks;

I just posted "Astro IIDC 4.05.04 Beta 1" (4.2 megabyte zip file):

http://www.outcastsoft.com/prototype/AstroIIDC40504B1_UB.zip

I hope to do the official GM and installer release late next week, assuming no issues get reported before then.

All the bug fixes and enhancements are listed in the  "READMEFIRST40504 Beta1.rtfd" file in the .ziup archive, and include:

- The text output from the Image Processing module Photometric Results has been changed so it's more table like, and should import into spread sheets more easily.

- Added vertical arrows "nudge" button to the right of  the Exposure slider, which increases or decrease the exposure time in 0.10 millisecond increments. Only cameras that support the Absolute Shutter Register will have this feature enabled. Although it may let you change exposure time, the camera may not physically support such fine increments and you may not see any change in brightness with each click, especially once your below 1.0 ms exposures.

- The name of the capture text file has all your capture settings when you grab a frame or record a movie is now prefixed with the word "CAP_" so that you know this file is related to the capture process. Previously it was just a date and confused people when I asked for information for trouble shooting purposes/

- Fixed a sporadic crashing bug when using 2x scaling with stacking 8 bit movies. This really became repeatable on some Macs in Snow Leper 10.6.1 (thanks Antonio).

- Fixed an issue where the ROI crop state was not being properly restored if the ROI left and top corners were both 0.

- Worked around an Apple issue where the Display format size would sometimes not be added to the capture log file when accessing menus because of Apple bugs when reading disabled menu controls. The CodeWarrior builds would do this only if it was done from the grab frame frame code, however with XCode it did it for Recording and Grab Frame code.

- Worked around a bug in Apples code (for Leper and Snow Leper), where if you call Apple's DialogRun() from a cooperative thread, it hangs Astro IIDC and puts up a white area on screen where the save file window would be. The only time this happens if you have both the "Display sharpness histogram .." and "Manually select frames.." controls unchecked in the Stacking Options window. Apple isn't handling their GUI code properly for their save file code form within coo-operative threads, unless one of our windows appears before it gets called.  It's a known issue and Apple won't be fixing it, so Astro IIDC no loner puts up the window that for the name of the movie when creating a reference movie. Now it just appends the word "REF_" to the source movie name and saves it into the same folder that all your stacking files will be saved to, automagically.
