Hi Milton,

I just had a chance to try the nudge buttons for exposure that you've added to the new beta2 of 4.05.04.

In tests with a camera lens attached to the 1600x1200 Scorpion camera, the nudge buttons worked like a charm, registering exposure changes at each .10ms interval from 1.00ms shutter to .10ms.

This will be a very significant advantage when using the PGR camera for solar imaging, where the very fast shutter settings are needed.

Thanks so much for adding this to Astro IIDC!!

best wishes,

Alan

Hi Folks;

I just posted "Astro IIDC 4.05.04 Beta 2" (4.3 megabyte zip file):

http://www.outcastsoft.com/prototype/AstroIIDC40504B2_UB.zip

Please throw out B1 and start using B2, as B1 has a potential data loss bug.

All the bug fixes and enhancements are listed in the "READMEFIRST40504 Beta2.rtfd" file in the .zip archive :

- B2 removes two lines of development code that was left in the B1 release. I was trying to determine what the Apple bug was in Apple's "DialogRun()" function hang and left a line of code that would cause all file save windows code to return a usercancelled error, so that the files would silently not be saved.

Sorry about that.

PS:

This bug bit me big time sunday night as that was the first clear low wind night we have had since September 27th. I got new bearings for the RA Axis of the HEQ5 mount installed on Saturday and then Sunday was recording the tracking errors after re-aligning the mount. After recording the Periodic Error (which seems to be extremely reduced) for about 2 hours, I came inside and could not find the text file I had "thought" I saved. I finally found the bug this morning and will have to (hopefully) re-shoot the PE tonight to see how much of an improvement the new main axis and worm gear bearings make.
