Hello Milton,

i think that it is the "diurnal" libration due to the observer translation during half rotation of the Earth. Some time ago i added a file about a 3D view of South Pole with a graphical explanation of this (apparent only) libration.

Thanks very much for the explanation. I didn't know it was noticeable over such short time period and always though it was a multi day issue.

by the way...Milton why often i get such diagonal lines?

Because that's fixed pattern noise, either in the CCD readout or due to EM coupling of components. It gets amplified because your using very high Brightness / Gains and then it shows up in the unifromly dark areas.

Wait until USB 3 gets out if you want to see high frequency coupling noise :)

Doing CE / FCC qualifications when I worked with PixeLink on FireWire 400 cameras was a major PITA, and in some cases required board redesign and changing components. Running at multi giga hertz will be really interesting with long antenna cables to see if anything passes CE / FCC certification for USB 3.

TTYL..
