I think my Scorpion was a little difficult to begin with too-I just unplugged the firewire cable & plugged it in again. It would only work directly into the port at the back of the computer using a FW 400-400 cable (wouldn`t daisy chain or operate through my unpowered Unibrain hub as my other cameras do) It does operate on a 10 metre cable though. I wonder if this is the same seller as mine-he has an exemplary record I believe..

Try a different FireWire 400 cable would be my only suggestion.

Bad cables can cause all sorts of issue.

I have bought a second hand Flea camera from ebay ...

and it doesn't work, what I have tried so far:

- Trial version of Astro_IIDC, when open camera it claims immediately no IIDC camera available

- iChat or other AV apps, no success

- system profiles does not show any device under Firewire :-(

Tried FW 400 and 800 with convertor ... also tried 10.6 and 10.5 both intel ...

The camera shows the green light at the back and becomes warm ... so it powers up alright I guess ....

Any other tests I can do?
