Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] trying yet again...!

Milton,

I`ll experiment with it some more. I`ve been sending the link to the Lunar Files section & telling people what the image is named so they can find it themselves. As to how I put both in the same link I don`t know? I did try re-naming the files for my snapshots at one stage but I remember it didn`t work at the time so I gave up. As for all the duplicates of this image I have in Files, I`ll delete all but one when I get a satisfactory result. Thanks,

Mark.

We went over this before several times on the list, mark.

That's a temporary link that Yahoo generates when you access an image.

It will not work for other people and it's time limited.

If you want other people to see it, you need to construct your own URL path which is what I do when I post Lunar files

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/Lunar/

and using the file name you uploaded. You link should be :

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/Lunar/Picture%2011.png

and you should be naming the files appropriately (subject, date and initials of creator). I would also suggest people use underscore characters rather than spaces in the name to avoid the "%20" space internet safe equivalent.

Or you can upload it to your own web site and post the link to it there. We only have 100 mb of upload space on this group and I'll have to go through and prune the files and photos section in early 2010.

I just tried the link I sent before & it`s not working?! If the above

one fails the image I`m talking about can be found on the group`s

site; Astro IIDC under Files>Lunar> Picture 11.png
