Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] pruning...

I have a Flickr site & an iWeb one which is rapidly filling & have directed people to them in the past. I have my doubts sometimes if people will take the time to look if it seems a lot of trouble to them!? Alan`s site is an excellent professional one as is yours. I can usually access Alan`s site readily even on my phone by internet (& it`s not an iPhone!) which is more than can be said for my own iWeb site which always says "URL not in active profile" which is the same for most astronomy sites I `d like to access! I can always get any of the "Hot Babes" sites etc. if I wanted them, or silly ring tones etc. though but that`s probably a limitation of my phone internet service! I have managed recently to download some of the photos & movies from your site by phone, though. I don`t know that my complaining to Yahoo about my problems will be given much creedence?! Sounds like complaining to Apple or to a lesser extent Celestron- (Celestron will at least get around to you eventually!) Apple are getting better with their non Applecare internet support I noticed recently, though perhaps that`s because I have a Mobile Me account?

Milton,

I`ve posted a version of my mosaic, correctly oriented for here &

pruned many of the others. I notice Alan has already posted that

picture of mine he altered to Files so I`ve left just that. The only

problem I have with ticking the box notifying the group of a new file

is that you can`t append many comments!

Yes, that's how Yahoo does it. Why not complain to them about it.

Another message can be sent

but that`s not directly linked to the original file except by here-

say. If I wanted to create my own link, do I start with the say Lunar

folder part of the link then type a % mark & the name of my file or is

it more complicated than this?

Read the last e-mail I sent where i tell you that a "space" in the file name is the same as "%20" for the file and what I suggested you do instead!

I`ve been wondering what you do when

the available folders for the group site are full!

I prune them down, starting with my own images - especially the ones that look really crappy or are really old.

Can you start a

Lunar 2 section or something?

No. Each group has a limit to file storage.

As I said in the last message, you could upload them to your own site and then mention the link on the Astro IIDC web site. That's what Allan and others do.
