The Specs I have for the Scorpion SCOR-20SO indicates it requires up to 3.5 watts of power. The Flea uses around 2.5 amps, so the combined will be about 6 watts. I don't know what the Hub needs for watts of power, but it might be 1.
So if your Adapter puts out 12 volts, then you need at least:
7 Amps / 12 volts = 0.58 amps or 583 milli amps.
of power. So the 0.8 watt / 800 milliwat 12 volt one should work.

Hi Milton,
I`ve found a number of adaptors now none seem to be the recommended
1.5A! http://www.unibrain.com/Products/p1394/FR400.htm
The adaptor I already tried with the (native to here) plug
says ...Output +6V=2A.. another says 12V+0.8A, a big one I have on
which I`ve removed the 12V plug says 12V=2000mA 24VA & one with an
American plug says 9V=17A (16W Max). I also have the variable voltage
American one I bought for the Peltier cooler (which is quite
permanently attached now- with the 12V plug removed) which says Output
12VDC current DC 2500mA. I guess I could try the second one I
mentioned @ 12V+0.8A...

Hi Mark;
Yes, that's what I am trying to get across.
You need to use a 4 pin to 6 pin FW adapter between the Hub and the
Mac, which forces the Hub to power itself. You also need an AC/DC
adapter too for the Hub to power it. Usually they indicate near the
plug what the Adapter will need for input, like 12 volt and xx amps.

Milton, That"s another good idea but the solution I have now with
the 12 volt power adaptor dosen"t involve any more expendtures of
money at this stage & appears to be working. Do you mean that the 6
pin cables are drawing power from the computer"s FW bus & this may
be detracting from the Firerepeater 400"s operation?
