The camera operates fine without accessing this port - it is only necessary if you want to enable exposures longer than 533ms. If you search the forums from the past several months you will find some posts and illustrations on how to connect the two sockets to enable long exposures through Astro IIDC.

Hello owners of a PGR Scorpion,
A friend and myself just bought 2 Scorpions offered on eBay.
Unfortunately those cameras are delivered without documentation and accessories.
However, checking PGR's website, the question came up whether the GPIO connector on the back of the camera must be used in order to operate it under Astro IIDC.
Any advice most appreciated.
Thanks
Wolfgang
