I thought I had Milton`s diagram handy but just did a "clean-up" of my Mac Mini`s desktop! I guess you have this;

It`s pin 1 & 2 which need to be joined. I found the best way was with one of those twisty ties used for the top of plastic bags. I just trimmed the ends a couple of millimeters inserted them in the holes & put duct tape over the top...
