Hi Mark,

pointing Mars at magnitude -1 through a finder is quite straightforward, not so for an 8th magnitude star. Anyway Milton suggests to find the brightest G2V above 45° altitude, which seems definitely more practical even without goto capability. (well, it depends on the Moon phase, actually!)
