Thanks for the notes and comments guys - much appreciated!

Perry, these images are not at prime focus. With my 92mm f4.8 refractor the entire solar disk would fit on the 1600x1200 chip of the PGR Scorpion camera. I use a Baader FFC tele-extender and a 3" extension yielding approximately 2 meter focal length. The image is cropped a little and reduced approximately 20% (original size is about 22 inches across at 72dpi).

This monster prom was still impressive today... I stayed home to take pictures again (sunny mild days in March are a gift in Buffalo):

Alan,

I think your stay home was well worth it! A striking image!!

Couple of questions:

1. I assume the cam was at prime focus. Correct? What sort of mag do you have here?

2. How much cropping?

BTW, on the right, that's a "running deer" with a "dog jumping towards its neck." Well, the "dog" could be a "feral pig!" On the left, still mostly hidden, is another "running deer."

They are seen even better in the second image!!

See those??? Well, the title of the website is "avertedimagination.com!!!" Just carrying thru on that theme. 8^)

Thanks, as always, for sharing, and

Better skies,

Perry
