Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Astro IIDC Legacy App Question

I have no problem with this plan.

By the way, I used AstroIIDC this morning as a member of an IOTA team working the Anastasia occultation. It worked beautifully with the time code turned on. Unfortunately, I was one of the stations outside the shadow path, so I didn’t get to see Zeta Oph blink off. :->(

Hi Folks;

I am very strongly considering dropping the "Legacy" PowerPC only CodeWarrior version of Astro IIDC (which supports OSX 10.2.8 and higher on G3, G4 and G5 Macs) from the next release. It's included in the .dmg installer in the "Legacy" folder.

The Universal version of Astro IIDC does support OSX 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6, for G4, G5 and x86 MacIntel Macs.

So we would be dropping support for G3 processors and OS X 10.3 or earlier. Codewarrior has been dead for some time now, Apple does not include headers for it and I can't move to some of the updated API interfaces without maintaining separate code builds. So it's become a major hassle and I don't think anyone is using it anyhow.

Unless someone has a really good financial case for me continuing support of older systems, it will not be included in the 4.06.00 release.

Thanks in advance..
