Subject: first Ha solar-prom image

Hi,  thought I'd share my first Ha solar image of prominences.  I've posted it in the Solar Files:  20100517_104228.31_L_Enhanced.jpg  This was single frame tif.  I tried stacking some mov files but the single image seemed better.  Using MacBook Pro and DBK21AF camera, 40mm Coronado on Orion ED80mm @ prime focus. PS CS3 for minor adjustment and title.  Its no Alan Friedman, but a start anyway.  I'll be trying my SCOR-20 camera too, whenever our spring weather starts to settle down more.

One question - do you Ha solar shooters use and IR block filter, like you would for planets?  I tried it and images seem better without it.  Perhaps not needed with the Ha filters?

Thanks for your continued work on AstroIIDC Milton.
