Subject: Updated Astro Images

Hi Folks;

I've updated my Astro Images web site:

http://www.outcastsoft.com/AstroImages/AstroIndex.html

with re-processed versions and some new images. Details one each image (all taken, guided and processed with Astro IIDC 4.06.00) are embedded at the bottom of each image.

The re-processing of M35 with Gradient removal worked out a lot better than the old version, as did several others like NGC2903, NGC4565, M64 and M53.

Another interesting aspect is that I shot the Globular clusters M3, M5 M10 and M13 using the exact same exposure times, focal length and with very similar processing. This gives you a good comparison of them to each other for brightness, core size and dimensions. Photographically, M5 looks more impressive to me than M13 and M10 (being closer) appears larger than the others. M53 was taken with 7 minute exposures and is too far west for this year to image at 10 minutes for a direct comparison. I plan to image M15 and M92 soon using the same exposure settings to round out my spring / summer Globular Cluster gallery.

TTYL..

PS: No joy on Exoplanet imaging. It was basically cloudy until 12:30 with humidity to 75%, so I bagged the scope. Of course right before I went to bed at about 1:45 am,  I checked outside only to find it had finally cleared off (10 hours later than CSK predicted) and the stars were not flickering at all (low turbulence). However the valley to my east was filling with fog, the humidity was 85% and it was too late to set up and cool the camera down, so I just went to bed.
