Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Problem with 4.03? [1 Attachment]

Hi Ron:

Wrong place to do this. As it says on our Web site:

http://www.outcastsoft.com/ASCASTROIIDC.html#SUPPORT

support request and crash reports are to be e-mailed directly to the support e-mail address of support@outcastsoft.com

Also posting your Crash report to a public forum is a really really bad idea and I've already deleted  it for the Astro IIDC site. The crash report has a complete listing of all sorts of software and hardware information on your Mac should never be made public if you are concerned about your privacy. It's unlikely it can be used to hack your Mac, but who really knows for sure?

I looked through it but I don't have an answer why it is crashing. All it indicates is that one of the stacking preemptive thread is crashing somewhere. However your using a old copy of Astro IIDC too which is really really out of date and perhaps that bug has been fixed or worked around in a later version.

Astro IIDC 4.05.04 is the officially shipping version and is what we currently will deal with for support issues.

Version 4.06.00 is in Beta testing and is what you (and everyone else) should be using as it will be what we support going forward. Bugs will get fixed in 4.06.00. They won't be fixed in earlier versions of it.

Note that if people flip / flop between Astro IIDC 4.05.x and 4.06.00, there are major differences in the preference files, especially for Stacking. If your having issues, I suggest you locate the "com.outcastsoft.ASTRO_IIDC_App.AlignPref.plist" file (in your ~User/Library/Preferences folder) dispose of it and then re-launch Astro IIDC so it creates a new version. I know of one person so far that this has solved issues for.

Hope This helps, and if not e-mail me directly and we'll take it from there..

Hello Milton,

I was trying to stack and align solar movies I shot today with my PGR Scorpion camera.   AstroIIDC 4.03 has been crashing almost every time when it starts the process.  I've not had this happen before but its been a couple months since I've had a chance to use it.  Perhaps something has corrupted the code or my Snow Leopard updates have caused some problem ?  I've tried changing several options in the stacking and aligning options window and was trying to use the MAP feature, but it still crashes regardless of choices.   I'm attaching a txt file copy of the error report.   I'm getting a txt file out when it crashes but there is nothing on it.

Please advise if possible.   Guess I could download the new version, but I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong or whats going on with this one.

thanks for your support.
