Subject: Re: new solar image & prob fixed

Hi Ron;

Not a problem and I'm glad that solved the issue.

On a side note the link you posted goes no where and is likely a temporary link from Yahoo.

The real (hand parsed) link is :

Nice Solar Prominence image. Someday when I have the cash I'll have to look into it more seriously.

PS: For all of you x86 Mac users, the Beta 4.06.00 uses hand written SSE3 for alignment now, which at least doubles the speed that it can stack and align images at, especially when doing MAP.

Milton,   apologies for posting my issue on the group - I simply hit reply to your email notice of the new beta version, not realizing it went to the group.   I downloaded and used the 4.05 version and that seems to have done the trick.

so I've uploaded  a processed a solar image to the group solar files from 8/5/10.   thanks for your help and support.   The jpeg version appears much blockier than the 16bit tif.

Taken with a 40mm Ha Coronado filter on Orion ED80mm +2x shorty barlow, Pt.Grey Research Scorpion firewire Camera, MacBook Pro -captured, stacked, processed with AstroIIDC and PS3 for coloration.

I attended the MWAI conference near Chicago a couple weekends ago and had the pleasure of finally hearing and meeting Alan Friedman who gave an excellent talk on his solar/planetary imaging using AstroIIDC and want to say thanks again Alan for a sharing your techniques and talents.
