Mark;

I still find using a big bright object like the moon a lot easier to use, especially for an OAG. It's easier to get both cameras aligned, parfocal and in focus with it than a star.

Milton & others,

I`m ready to start guiding using the facility in Astro IIDC, a Kwiq

guidescope & my  PGR Scorpion 20SOM CCD.

I`d have started last night on NGC 6744 using Peacock with Precise Go

To on my CG-5 & C9.25 to begin with but clouds closed me down.

I got out later & managed to focus the Kwiq guidescope through gaps in

the cloud, on Achernar no problem.

I`m cross posting this, I don`t know if the autoguiding group

currently has attachments enabled but I`ll be adding 2 photos to my

Photos page ( should be in New Photos too) on both groups in any event.

If this fails for any reason I now have 250 metres of view on land

objects at my new site & can perhaps still resort to my Celestron

Radial Guider OAG..

The photos show basic set-up & Achernar as Grabbed with the Scorpion..

Mark.
