Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Temperature reading Flea3

Dear Teus;

For future correspondence, support questions should go to us directly to at:

support@outcastsoft.com

That way we can keep your information private and not clutter up the list with back and forth queries if I ask you for additional the information (logs, debug files, console log reports , images, movies etc.) or need to send you debug builds etc.

First off, which version of Astro IIDC are you using (4.06.03 is the most recent)?

Secondly, what Mac model (i.e. x86 dual core 15" MacBook Pro, G4 Single Core Mac Mini, 12 Core x86 Mac Pro Dekstop etc.) is it and what version of OS X (i.e. 10.6.3, 10.5.9 etc.)

Thirdly, what is the ambient temperature of the space your using it in?

There is a known bug with the cameras sensor or PGR firmware  that when the physical  temperature hits  0°C, the camera erroneously reports a temperature of -273.15°C or 0° Kelvin. I've seen it happen in the Grasshoppers and the temperature goes from +1°C to +0.5°C to -273.15°C then to -0.5°C and then colder as read out of the Camera. PGR does not officially support a camera operating temperature of 0°C, so i doubt if they test that low.

Once I have those basic questions out of the way I will likely have some follow up ones.

Hope That Helps..

Hi,

My PGR Flea3 just arrived and learning to use it with Astro IIDC. The technical manual of the camera says: The camera is equipped with an on-board temperature sensor. I can turn the temperature reading on in Astro IIDC but it shows: Camera Temp: -273.1 C / -459.7 F. Do I have to set a parameter somewhere to get the right value or is this a bug?

Thanks in advance,

Teus
