Subject: 150mm PST Monster Lives!

After more than two weeks, the Sun reappeared and it also promises to be clear tonight.  Stay tuned for part 2 of my scope modification projects.

Meanwhile, I've been working on converting a Celestron 150mm f8 achromat to the ultimate PST.  I had good success with the 80mm PST this summer but wanted something intimidating to bring to our monthly RASC solar parties.  This is it!  I cut the OTA tube down to allow the PST etalon to come to focus and stopped it down to 120mm to get an f10 cone.  Seeing not the greatest today, especially for the focal length and the low winter Sun.

Still it worked and happy to be imaging again.
