Hi Ron;

Hi,  I was imaging a large prominence on the sun today wrapping around the limb near sunspot group 1147-1149.   About 2pm I noticed the prom had morphed into the shape of a face -maybe a woman?!   I know Alan Friedman likes to give his prominences names, so thought of him while I watched this.   What was really bizarre was that because of the seeing, the face's mouth appeared to move as if speaking and I thought maybe I've spent too much time looking at the screen!  ; )

Very nice. It would be interesting to see it done as an animated series too.

This is a single tiff image cropped about 50%,  captured with AstroIIDC, on MacBook Pro, 40mm Coronado filter on Orion ED80mm scope w/ 2x barlow and DBK 21 camera.   Image uploaded to Solar Files - link in previous yahoo message.  -can't seem to get a proper link to paste here.

Yep PITA with Yahoo links.

You basically have to construct the link yourself.

This is the base link..

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/

and then you have to manually add the folder you put it in (i.e. Solar):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/Solar/

and then the file name after that..

So that's how I have to do it too. Clumsy I know but complaint to Yahoo if you want too.

Thanks for sharing..
