I had the chance to hook the ORCA-5 up to Astro IIDC earlier this week.  Everything looked good and it correctly reported an extensive list of modes and I could get a preview image.  However, when I tried changing stuff e.g. exposure or binning, the displayed values changed but seemed to have no effect on the acquired image.  I'm getting a loan unit in so I can investigate further.

Which version of Astro IIDC is this?

Also check the console log window and see if there are any errors showing up.

I've run into that with some other cameras which usually have multiple interfaces (i.e Camera Link, Ethernet USB etc.), for example Prosilica Cameras are bad for this. Those sorts of cameras usually don't support IIDC properly and lie about what they do support.

If they include a pdf describing what the camera supports for IIIDC features that would be very helpful.

HTH..
