Subject: Lion Issues

Hi Folks;

I have started the process of testing Astro IIDC for compatibility issues with Lion. I start with the installers on a clean system and then verify the entire process of installing, registration and then onto actual testing.

One thing that was exceedingly vexing is that Apple in it's "wisdom" has hidden the "Library" folder inside your Users folder for Lion. So you can't look at preferences or any of the other things you might need for trouble shooting or deleting preference files for corruption.

I finally found this link:

http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/topic/428277-unhide-library-folder-in-mac-os-x-107-lion/

which describes how to unhide it using this command from the terminal to unhide it (change < Username> to your accounts username):

chflags nohidden /Users/<Username>/Library

Note that the "Library" folder in the "System" folder and in the "root" folder are not hidden and mucking around in them can be so catastrophic your Mac will not boot - so Apples half arse logic of hiding the users "Library" is just idiotic.

If the OS gets any more "dumbed down", no one will be able to use it.

HTH..
