Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Slightly OT larger format camera

Hi Ray,

The Flea3 is sold with a 1600x1200 pixel sensor. The frame rate drops to 15 fps at this readout just as it does with the Scorpion. ROI will allow a faster frame rate with a subset of the chip pixels, but it won't be as fast as the Flea3 640x480 (up to 120fps). The Scorpion won't go above 25 fps with ROI enabled. The Flea3 might be capable of a faster readout... couldn't find the spec sheet that would confirm this though.

best,

Alan

Hi Guys,

I'm considering buying a larger format camera for Lunar/Solar use. I've missed the boat on PG Scorpions I expect, any other suggestions?. BTW I currently use a DMK21af04
