Hi Milton

I have a similar problem, it takes until after one in the morning before Jupiter rises over the roof to the east of my balcony. So there will be better opportunities later in the year.

Nice result of NGC 6946 considering the short exposure times and long focal length.

best regards

Chris

Hi Chris;

Nice image. Jupiter doesn't get above 30° until around 1 am here, so I'm still waiting for it.

I'm out at the lake for the next week and managed to image NGC 6946 (FireWorks Galaxy) on September 20th.

That's with the AT8RC sScope @ 1625 mm FL, Cooled Grasshopper, 1x1 Luma 16 min, 2x2 R4 min, G4 min and B5 min. Seeing was in the 3.5 to 4 arc second range.

It's preliminary and I'm going to play with it some more later on.

TTYL..

Here another version this time with the new DMK camera using Baader color and IR filters. The IR channel brought out some of the fine filaments. I have a long way to go to optimize my recording and processing skills.  ;-)
