Impressive!  Is that chip in any of the other Pt Grey cameras?

I already posted this once, Yahoo ate it.

Since it was clear and the moon was too bright to do Photometric work or look for YU55, I decided to try out the Color USB 2 Chameleon camera.

Here is my only shot of Jupiter (and 3 moons) this season. Seeing was bad so I had to limit my scope to prime focus (AT8RC 1625 mm Focal Length):

That was with 13 ms exposures and zero gains, as the EXHAD CCD are quite sensitive. If the camera was a USB 3 model, I could have been shooting at 76 fps instead of 15 fps.

I had Astro IIDC stack the best 180 Jupiter frames out of 4300, stacked it at 3x size and then sharpened the crap out of it before reducing it back to normal size (33% reduction).

I also shot a bunch of color moon movies (about 50 gigabytes)  and made this 3 movie composite from one set:

I over saturated it to bring out the faint colors due to space weathering, iron and titanium content. I was shooting at 2 to 3 ms exposures for all of these.

TTYL..

PS: If you have an expandable Mac, the CalDigit USB 3  Express cards (both PCI E and the Laptop) are not locked to hardware like the other ones. So they should work for the new PGR Flea 3 USB 3 cameras.
