Hi Folks;

Speaking of Dynamic Range expansion.

Would a real time version of our image processing "Curves" ( (see Page 75 of the Astro IIDC help manual  for "Luma or RGB Curves") be of any use? If any of you have a unprocessed image of what the original sun + prominences looks like in 16 bit tiffs (zip them before transferring to save time / space via e-mail), it would be useful to me to so I can play with it and see if it will works or not.

Also have any of you you tried using the Histogram Expand feature in Astro IIDC ( "Hist. Expand" pop up menu  in the Camera controls window - see page 102 of the Astro IIDC manual) feature in yet? It might do what you want, especially if you use it in "Once" mode.
