Hi Folks;

Once Astro IIDC 4.08.00 is out and I finish my USB 3 Mac testing, I will be looking into the possibility of moving Astro IIDC to Android 4.

As it currently stands, the iPad is not doable because of the hardware restrictions Apple has imposed. They simply do not allow USB 2 access over their proprietary 30 pin connector - and it only outputs 35 milliamps of power anyhow - so you can't really use any buss powered devices.

Android 4 does officially support USB 2 Bulk transfer so using USB 2 cameras is definitely a possibility. Many Android tablets have 2 USB ports, so not only could we use PGR Cameras you can plug in an external USB 2 hard drives or flash drive and record directly to them.

Additionally, some Android tablets with USB 3 have been appearing at trade shows and that means the PGR USB 3 cameras (and storage devices) could be supported too.

If your at all interest in this going forward, including possibly doing beta testing, send me an e-mail at:

Thanks in advance..
