Subject: Re: Annular eclipse, how to process?

Hi Milton:

How do I break the movie into chunks?  I'd like to preserve the original so I can try other processing later, so I'll likely have to wait until I'm home and can make a duplicate onto an external hard drive (I don't have room on my laptop).

Hi all:

I'd love to process this into a distributable video of the entire event, but the raw video is about 34GB.

So, I'm all ears if someone has any suggestions.  Milton, what would you do?

Since it's one big movie, I would probably chunk it out into say 30 second / 30 frames reference movies (about 230 movies). Then I would have Astro IIDC do a batch stack of all the clips (make sure you uncheck the "Auto Clip out unstacked image areas." item in the Stacking options) and generate ~ 230 stacked frames. Then I'd assemble the frames into a movie using Astro IIDC's "Images to RGB48 movie.." and lastly use the "Export Movie...." item to convert RGB48 movie into an mp4. At 15 fps. the ~230 frame movie will last about 16 seconds.

You likely will have to reduce the video size when convert to mp4 by about half to keep the mp4 file size reasonable.

HTH..
