Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Error Message in Exporting ToV Movie

Thanx, Milton.  Installing the Bayer Codec solved the problem and I was able to convert the movie.

I have another question.  There is a red border along the sun and around Venus in my movie.  I’m including a clip to show you.  What is this due to and how can I use Astro IIDC to process it out?  This was taken with a color Imaging Source camera.

Hi Darryl;

I have been driving for the past 7 hours and just got back in to Calgary.

A -8961 error is a "No Codec Err".

Since it's a color camera, I'm guessing you did not install our Bayer Codec and that's why the movie can't be accessed or played. From our FAQ:

I just recorded a color movie and when I try and play the movie in QuickTime Player or stack and align it, I get a warning about a codec being missing and it does not play. Why??

You may not have installed our Bayer Codec to play back or process the color movies your recorded. Locate the "Astro IIDC Installer" disk image and double click on it to mount it. Now locate the "BayerInstaller" package on the disk image, double click on it and let it walk you through the install. No re-start is required after the codec is installed either.

Let me know if that solves it.

I'm trying to export a 12 minute, 41 MB movie, I made of the Venus transit from .mov to .mpeg-4, using the default MP4 options.  The movie was recorded on an earlier, non-INtel MacBook Pro, using an older version of Astro IIDC, and a color DFK camera in my college observatory.    I just purchased version, 4.08.00 and am using it on an Intel MacBook Pro.  I connected my new DMK camera to run Astro IIDC.  When I try to convert my movie, I consistently get the error message:

OSX Err

A -8961 0xFFFFDCFF error occurred in myQTMovieExport

All I really want to do at this point, is view the movie I made to see what it looks like.  Then I can decide how to process it.
