Stephen;
Unless your doing "Live Alignment" (which means Astro IIDC is not recording movies, it's stacking and aligning frames on the fly) with a camera in 16 bit mode, there is no reason to update it.
If you record your movies to disk and then stack them or are doing live alignment in 8 bit, then continue using 4.08.00.
There is only one person I know of doing this too.

Hi Folks;
A user found a bug with doing Live Alignment for 16 bit cameras running in only 16 bit modes in 4.08.00. I believe I have fixed the issue and it's available in Astro IIDC 4.08.01 Beta 0 (1.1 megabytes):
http://www.outcastsoft.com/Prototype/AstroIIDC40801B0_20120614.zip
Unless your having that issue, there is no need to download this beta version.
