Just curious, I noticed an update for the Grasshopper camera also
that addresses some of the heat issues. I would like to update my
firmware but I don’t seem to see how to do it using my MacBook. I
downloaded the firmware update on the Mac but wonder if you know how
to update the camera? It is a Firewire 800 camera and I cant plug
it in to any of my PC’s to use FlyCap.
You need windows to to the Update, so your MBP won't work unless it is
running Windows via Bootcamp (the Virtual products don't do FireWire).
The easiest option is to use a FW 400 to 800 cable / converter (like
these):

and update it that way with FlyCap. My old Compaq PC is what I use for
all Firmware PGR updates (cameras, hand controller esoteric devices
etc.).
