True. I am currently using my thunderbolt port with a TB to HDMI for a projector.

Hopefully soon TB will take off.

You may want to check out this:

http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thunderbolt/PCIe_Chassis/Mercury_Helios/

which is a Thunderbolt to PCI-E card expansion box and is supposed to
be available in 10 days. Will it be any better than Sonnet's Express
Card product - no one knows. Hopefully it will at least provide power
to Firewire which Sonnet's doesn't do.

As to the others, until they are actually shipping they are vapor ware
- just like Apples Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter which still hasn't
been heard of since announced in June. And I really wonder how well
these chassises will work outdoors - especially at -40°C or in dewy
condensing or dusty conditions too. They aren't designed for outdoor
use at all.

I have read quite a few reviews by people have had issues with using
Thunderbolt for anything other than Mass Storage devices - so how
stable they are or will be is a crap shoot.
